I've never been to nationals before, so I have no clue what to expect as far as competition and judging. Should I be speed reading and debating like I do at national circuit tournaments or should I debate slowly and simply like I must at local tournaments?

I all but a few freakish exceptions, you will have tremendously "lay" panels. There are two judges on each panel, and there will be at least one who either a) hates the national circuit style or b) doesn't have much experience with LD.

If you get a single circuit judge, you are in the minority. There is no use in preparing for anything that could be viewed as "progressive."
