So another day goes by, and the ICC continues to piss me off by not issuing an arrest warrant for sudanese leader Omar al-Bashir, here's a question for y'all:

What affs have you seen/heard on this topic?

I'll get a list started with some relatively stock ones:

    1. Heg/Soft Power/Multilat (aka the big impact AC)
    2. Deterrence
    3. Exceptionalism bad
    4. Transnationalism Good

Does the ICC even have jurisdiction to do this?

I had some cards that said multilateral networks like international courts = intelligence sharing which decreases terrorism. I also heard a hard power affirmative and one "universal moral code" affirmative that said all impacts are relative except for universal standards (aka international law via the ICC).

Yeah, I have seen that affirmative as well as those that claim that terrorism is within ICC jurisdiction. Vague phrases in the Rome Statute seem to make such prosecutions possible (i.e. systematic attack of civilians, targets selected on the basis of ethnicity or religion, etc.).

I know some teams are running cases about how the US should submit to an economic court, but I am not completely sure how that position works.
